The Triple Play

The whole idea behind presets for PhotoTools is to save you time. You really shouldn’t have to go back and find two or three (or more) effects that you like and combine them again. So, as you probably know by now from reading this blog, you can save your favorite combinations as presets. In this example, I’ve combined three of my favorite effects by Kevin Kubota in PhotoTools Professional Edition. I call it the Kubota Triple Play.

I created this preset with portraits in mind, but I suppose you could try it out on landscapes as well. It combines the Kubota Daily Multi-Vitamin effect (which adds local contrast and an overall color punch), the Kubota Anime effect (adds a soft, romantic, painterly effect) and finally the Kubota GlowSoft effect with emphasis on the dark portions of the image. Here’s an example of this effect on a picture of my daughter. You can download the free preset at the end of this post.
