Installing Presets for PhotoTools and PhotoFrame
Installing PhotoTools Presets
Installing a preset is pretty straight forward. Please note that if a preset uses an effect found only in PhotoTools Professional Edition, it won’t work in PhotoTools Standard Edition. Presets created in PhotoTools Standard Edition will work in PhotoTools Professional Edition.
The PhotoTools Presets have a *.pto file extension. When you download them from this site, they are in a .zip file format to make sure that your web browser and operating system recognize the file format. After you download the file, unzip it and then take that file or files and copy it/them to the following location. Make sure the file you are copying to the directory below has a .pto file extension or PhotoTools won’t recognize it.
Mac Users
Your PhotoTools preset folder lives in your user folder. Go to:
~username/Library/Application Support/onOne Software/PhotoTools/Stack Presets/
Within that folder are additional folders for organization purposes. Just copy the preset file (with the .pto extenion) into the folder of your choice. The next time you launch PhotoTools, the preset will be installed.
Windows Users
For Windows XP users, your PhotoTools preset folder can be found at the following location.
C:\Documents and Settings\Your User Name\Application Data\onOne Software\PhotoTools\Stack Presets
For Windows Vista users, you can find your PhotoTools preset folder here:
C:\Users\AppData\Roaming\onOne Software\PhotoTools\Stack Presets
You won’t see the presets appear if you add anything while PhotoTools is open. You’ll have to exit PhotoTools, but not Photoshop, and then go back into PhotoTools to see your new presets.
Installing Presets for PhotoFrame
Installing a preset is pretty straight forward. Please note that if a preset uses an edge or frame found only in PhotoFrame 4 Professional Edition, it won’t work in PhotoFrame 4 Standard Edition. Presets created in PhotoFrame 4 Standard Edition will work in PhotoFrame 4 Professional Edition.
Mac Users
Your PhotoFrame 4 preset folder lives in your user folder. Go to:
~username/Library/Application Support/onOne Software/PhotoFrame 4/Presets/
Within that folder are additional folders for organization purposes. Just copy the preset file (with the .pfo extenion) into the folder of your choice. The next time you launch PhotoFrame 4, the preset will be installed.
Windows Users
For Windows XP users, your PhotoFrame 4 preset folder can be found at the following location.
C:\Documents and Settings\Your User Name\Application Data\onOne Software\PhotoFrame 4\Presets
For Windows Vista users, you can find your PhotoFrame 4 preset folder here:

You won’t see the presets appear if you add anything while PhotoFrame 4 is open. You’ll have to exit PhotoFrame 4, but not Photoshop, and then go back into PhotoFrame 4 to see your new presets.
