Installing PhotoFrame Frames
Frames is the generic term used for any of the design elements that can be used in PhotoFrame. Keep in mind that a frame is not a preset and is imported and used differently. These can be simple frames or can be complex adornments, edges, backgrounds, textures or layouts. The frame files for PhotoFrame can be two styles.
- Original PhotoFrame frames which are simple masks and have a .frm extension. These frames have no built-in color or internal border
- New PhotoFrame frames that contain color are made of three files with the same names and the .frr, .fri and .fro extensions
Most of the frames you will download from the onOne Exchange will be the new style with three files (.frr, .fri and .fro). PhotoFrame needs all three files to create one new-style frame. When you download them from the onOne Exchange, they are in a .zip file format to make sure that your web browser and operating system recognize the file format. After you download the file, unzip it and then follow these instructions.
Step 1 - Open any image in Photoshop
Step 2 - Open PhotoFrame
Step 3 - From within PhotoFrame, go to the File menu then select the Import Frame option.

Step 4 - From the dialog that appears, browse the the frame files you downloaded and unzipped.
IMPORTANT: Be sure you select all of the files (.frr, .fri .fro). You can do this by clicking on the first file, then shift-click on the last. On Windows, only the .frr files will appear selected, that’s okay.

Step 5 - Press Choose in the Choose dialog box.
Step 6 - When the frames have finished cataloging, quit and relaunch PhotoFrame. Now you will be able to find your frames in the Library. You can find them several ways. First, you can search for them by name in the search field. This is the fastest and most reliable way. Second you can browse them by category. If a frame fits in an existing category you will find it there. For example 4th of July frames will appear in the Layouts > Events > 4th of July category.
If a frame does not fit in an existing category it will be placed in the User category at the bottom of the category list.
